Junior Science Week 2023
Ms Leacy's class had great fun watching the skittles rainbow experiment. We watched the colour coating dissolve and the colours spread out in a process called diffusion.
We also "used science" to cover our apples in melted chocolate. (The chocolate would not stick to the apple withput the science bit!)
We made lava lamps!
The Early Start classes wondered what happens if you mix oil and water...
They also expored floating and sinking.
A very busy week all round
Did you know that you can seperate the fat and protein in milk using washing up liquid?
We have also been learning about space in Aistear, day and night and gravity!
Ms Barrett's class looked at gravity and force to see the effects these would have on distance travelled.
Ms Walsh's class have been designing raincoats for teddy, and seeing what are the best materials for the job.
We did taste testing - it was a bit yum and a bit yuck:)
